Yesterday I received some bad news. I mean, it's not world ending bad or even bad on the scale of what's happening in the world currently. It's just not news I wanted to read.
It's no secret these pixels (Kirinyth) are not my first in Second Life. I've made a few attempts to retrieve my original 2007 avatar, however they have been unsuccessful. I jumped through so many hoops, provided more information than the tax office usually wants and it still wasn't enough to get her back. To preserve what little sanity I have left, I have to let her go.
After much consideration - and more than a few tears I'll admit - I realised I'm not the same person I was 13 years ago. And while my '07 pixels are my past and helped to shape who I am today (I spent a lot of time in Second Life!) they are no longer an adequate representation of me. Having said that, I miss my inventory!
This post got a little deeper than I intended, but that's the beauty of SL. It allows us to delve deeply into our own psyche's to understand how we fit into the world. So here's to new pixels, old pixels and every pixel in between!
